MASTER PLANNING PROCESS

PURPOSE:
To assist airports with the development of a detailed plan for the future of their facilities.

INPUT & INFORMATION NEEDED:
Provided by the Client:
1. Access to facility
2. Historical planning documents (Master Plans, Environmental Assessments, etc.)
3. Participants for Technical Committees

Provided by TMG:
1. Inventory of airport facilities
2. Assessment of operational and capacity patterns
3. Development of concepts for future growth of facility
4. Assessment of funding opportunities
5. Working papers on inventory, forecasts, capacity issues, environmental overview, concept development and capital program

OUTPUT & PRODUCT:
The master plan will result in a document that provides the airport with a map of its future on a 20-year horizon. The planning process will result in numerous documents, but the key deliverables include:

1. An FAA-approved Operational Forecast
2. A proposed development plan
3. A set of approved Airport Layout Plans
4. A Capital Improvement Plan
5. The Master Plan Report

USES:
1. Educate the community about needs and future of airport.
2. Facilitate state and federal funding of capital improvement projects

POTENTIAL FUNDING SOURCES:
Eligible cost under AIP and PFC
